Merry Christmas, It was a quiet day in Wrangell with myself, Lynda, Seth and Nathaniel. Didn't do much but enjoyed the leisure time and played with our presents. Weather was mild with snow on the hilltops but wet here in town. Marcus and PeanutButter have been playing together more now pretending to be arch enemies. Would have been nice to see all the rest of the family but a quiet day was enjoyed as well. Hope all your Christmas wishes came true and thanks to all you who sent cards and gifts. Ron

My Latest Basket

Here is my newest basket. I just finished it yesterday. It is my favorite design which I named "Bears in the Fishing Weir." This is because It uses the traditional designs of the bear tracks (outside triangular shapes), and of the fishing weir (inside dash strip). This will be the first one with this design that I am putting up for sale. The basket is about five inches tall, and four inches in diameter.

Southeast Alaska from the air in winter

Flew to Juneau today with Sunrise Aviation to pick up a patient from their hospital. The cloud cover was down to 500 feet so we got to fly closer to the ground and would have seen more if the clouds didn't block so much of the light. Not too bumpy so a pleasant trip overall with sightings of humpback whales on the return. Takes 1 hour up, about 45 minutes on the ground to run to the hospital and accompany the patient back to the airport in the ambulance. The weather was much better in Wrangell than Juneau as usual but that is relative as both places were wet and cloudy.

Another great concert with a great group of singers. It is a lot of fun getting together and practicing the pieces. The concert part is a little nerve wracking but a usual end point for all the practicing. Next is the Spring Concert.

I finally finished the Christmas lights for this year, and Ron put them up yesterday. I was going to do a couple of flowers, but decided that one was plenty. It ended up being nine feet wide, and eight feet tall.

Thanks Amanda for bringing me the lights from Anchorage.

Wrangell from the North

Wrangell from the North

Had visions of flying today to Juneau but due to circumstances beyond my control that trip will be postponed to Monday. The weather is cold and beautiful with the sun shining in all its might for the 7 hours it is up. Looking forward to a nice weekend at home with Lynda. This pict is from a flight back from Juneau with Sunrise Aviation a few years back in the Summer time. This is Wrangell looking at the north end.

Musings

Greetings and Salutations,
Our first venture into blogdom. It is a quiet evening in Wrangell, Lynda asked me to make the inaugural blog for our site and I thought those looking at this chain of words would probably best be interested in what is happening in our lives. We had a wonderful Thanksgiving with our eldest child taking from her busy schedule and spending nearly a week with us. It was good to have Amanda here to celebrate the holiday, her birthday and getting her CPA license. A pleasant time was had visiting, playing Guild Wars and eating good food. We look forward to another visit in a year or so but sooner would be nicer ;).

Lynda has been working on the genealogy some more, considering what if any Christmas decorations to put up and planning new masterpieces. I have been working at the hospital leisurely and having good success with my clients so that I will have to return one to Juneau this Friday. The schedule is such that I will have to stay overnight and since I am there, I guess I will do a little shopping at their new Walmart and maybe get over to Home Depot as well.

Will drop a line occasionally as things happen.
Ron
